Fostering Global Partnerships: Australian High Commissioner Visits Landson Athletics Camp

On Friday, August 7th, 2026, the Landson Foundation had the distinct privilege of welcoming a very special guest to our athletics camp: the Australian High Commissioner to Kenya, His Excellency Andrew Barnes.

The High Commissioner’s visit marks a significant moment of international recognition for our foundation's efforts. During his time at the camp, H.E. Andrew Barnes took the opportunity to personally engage with our dedicated coaching team and our incredibly talented young athletes. He witnessed firsthand the intense training, discipline, and passion that our youth bring to the track every single day.

We are immensely grateful for the time he spent with us. His genuine interest in the work we are doing to nurture grassroots talent and create life-changing opportunities for young people serves as a massive encouragement to our entire community. Cross-cultural support and global recognition are vital in showing our athletes that their hard work is seen and valued beyond our borders.

Looking ahead, this visit has laid the groundwork for an exciting future. We eagerly look forward to strengthening our partnership with Australia through several proposed initiatives. These include establishing dynamic athlete exchange programmes, creating collaborative sports development initiatives, and sharing educational resources. By bridging the gap between Kenya and Australia, we hope to provide even greater, unprecedented opportunities for our talented athletes to train, learn, and compete globally.
